The 9th Cross-Strait Urban Design Joint Workshop for the Fall Semester 2024 successfully kicked off, led by Shih-Hsuan Tan and Chih-Yu Lee from the Department of Architecture at Ming Chuan University. This year, 45 teachers and students from both sides of the Taiwan Strait participated, including 24 participants from two Taiwanese universities. The participating institutions include the School of Architecture at South China University of Technology, the College of Architecture at Feng Chia University, and the Department of Architecture at Ming Chuan University.
The workshop focused on urban renewal, community building, and community governance, seeking new possibilities in urban design. On November 18, Chih-Yu Lee, Associate Dean of the College of Design at Ming Chuan University, delivered a lecture. The three universities—South China University of Technology, Feng Chia University, and Ming Chuan University—collaborated in the workshop, taking on challenges and earning an Excellence Award. After visiting the architectural masterpiece of Ando Tadao’s He Mei Art Museum, the group enjoyed the renowned sour fish soup of Guangzhou, a food capital.
