The Architecture Dept. recently conducted a series of exchange visits and international field teaching activities. “Taiwanese Students and Teachers Huizhou Architectural Culture Study Camp” held in Anhui, China.

From July 16th to 21st, the Architecture Department of MCU, led by Prof. Liang Minggang, embarked on a significant educational journey to Anhui, China. This delegation included five members: freshmen Li Guantai, Chen Yuru, Hong Yiyun, and Wang Kaiting.

Their destination was the “Taiwanese Students and Teachers Huizhou Architectural Culture Study Camp” organized by Anhui Jianzhu University(安徽建築大學) in Huifei, Anhui Province. The purpose of this camp was to facilitate academic exchange and mutual learning between students from Taiwan and mainland China. Over twenty participants from various Taiwanese schools, including THU LA Dept., joined this enlightening experience.

Huizhou, renowned for its rich cultural heritage, provided an ideal backdrop for exploration. From its distinctive Huizhou architecture and centuries-old tea culture to the majestic Yellow Mountain and modern advancements in AI and digital technologies, the region offered a diverse and captivating learning environment.

The organizers meticulously curated a program that delved into various facets of Huizhou culture, including architecture, tea culture, historical context, contemporary technology, and natural heritage. Participants benefited from comprehensive introductions by Anhui University of Architecture’s esteemed faculty, as well as hands-on experiences and guided tours in locations such as Hongcun Village.
